Ticketpro technology powers the ticket sales of the DELHI 2010 Commonwealth Games!

On Friday, June 4th, The Organizing Committee of the Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi officially launched the beginning of their ticket sales for all events featured during the Games!

India will be hosting an event of this magnitude for the first time in 28 years. The sport spectacle will start on October 3rd and will last until October 14thThe 17 sports (Aquatics, Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Cycling, Gymnastics, Hockey, Lawn bowl, Netball, Rugby Sevens, Shooting, Squash, Table Tennis, Tennis, Weightlifting, Wrestling) featured in the XIX Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010 will appear in a cluster of six individual venues and in five stand-alone venues in Delhi.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), in consortium with Ticketpro and Broad Vision Systems, are supplying the Games with all of their ticketing needs, including sales via the Internet, call centers and a network of independent retail outlets, as well as those that will operate at the different sporting Event venues. 

Ticket prices for the various sporting events range from Rs 50 to Rs 1000. Prices for the Opening Ceremony will range from Rs 1000 to Rs 50,000, and for the Closing Ceremony from Rs 750 to Rs 50,000.  Almost 40% of all competition venue tickets will be priced at Rs 200 or below.

Tickets are available for all sports, except free events, which include the Road Cycling Race, the Marathon, the Walk and the Cycling Time Trial.  

Tickets can be bought via the official ticketing website at www.tickets.cwgdelhi2010.org , in selected outlets of the Central Bank of India and of Hero Honda, and at the Delhi 2010 CWG Ticketing call centre by dialing 1 800-200-1294.

During the first phase, 40 per cent of tickets will be allocated and available to the local market. Based on the international standards, at least 0.5% of the total venue seating capacity for all venues will have accessible seating for spectators with special needs. 

Tickets will be sold in three phases; during Phase I, ticket buyers will be provided with a confirmation voucher that will be exchanged for actual tickets starting August 1st, on the same day that Phase II will begin. At the start of Phase II ticket buyers will be able to access tickets upon purchasing them. During Phase III, which will begin just before the Games on October 1st, tickets will become available at all Delhi 2010 CWG venues. Tickets purchased online will either be delivered, or picked up at the venue, according to the ticket buyer’s wishes.
